Whether you are trading stocks, indices, foreign exchange, bonds or commodities, you could use the Elliott Wave Principle to dramatically improve your results. It is no surprise, then, that professional traders and investors invariably use Elliott Wave analysis as a key decision making tool in their market activity. However, most people who try to learn the techniques by themselves often run into difficulty because the real world market movements appear to be different from the examples found in most standard reference books.
This book will give you a detailed “working” knowledge of the Wave Principle. Written in simple language, and with plenty of recent and real life examples, "Five Waves to Financial Freedom" will likely become your favorite reference book which you could use to quickly verify whether your own interpretation of the market fits in with the author's guidance. With its liberal use of cross-references, this book will enhance your understanding of the rules and guidelines that govern the Wave Principle. Furthermore, you could use the hundreds of examples available in the author’s website to support what you learn from this book. The techniques outlined in this book are the very same techniques that Ramki has successfully used for nearly 30 years.
About the N.Ramakrishnan ( Ramki) is a Treasury Manager with nearly 30 years of market experience. Forbes has recently counted Ramki as one of the three excellent Elliott Wave Technical Analysts out there.

I have quite a few books on the same topic that take 800 pages to say the same thing. They're chock full of complex math and a lot more graphs. Also a lot more verbiage. Ramki's book is great for those looking for practical approaches that won't need years to master.
I teach trading. I've always taught that you learn more by doing, past a certain point. Yes, you need the basics, but once you have those, you need to start trading. This short book has everything you need to start applying one method of many out there that work, and begin taking profit.
Remember that in the end, it's your psychology that will make or break you as a trader. And that, in turn, will determine whether a trading system does or does not work for you. Don't force yourself to use something that doesn't match your style. It won't work.
This is the second book I've read on Elliott Wave analysis. Five Waves to Financial Freedom is a helpful, brief introduction. While it includes many charts, I would have preferred even more, especially to illustrate some of the less common patterns. The last chapter is worth the price of the book. Here Ramki provides very practical advice on how to use Elliott Wave analysis to make profitable trades. I recommend Elliott Wave Made Simple by Steve Sinclair over this volume for a quick introduction to Elliott Wave theory. Sinclair has a chart to illustrate every concept. However, Five Waves is a bit more comprehensive.
The information provided in this book is no doubt significant and priceless. It was brief, to the point and practical. This book probably isn't one for beginners trying to simply understand the concept. Because it zooms past pretty fast. But my only complaint with book was that it didn't have diagrams to guide us, it went directly to charts, taking me longer than I'd like to take to process the information.
Don't rely on this as the only book about EWP, it's too brief and basic for that. Make sure you read the last 10 pages more carefully, in my opinion, they hold much more value than the rest of the book.
Very well written text. I'm new to EWP, but this is definitely relevant and I will be using immediately. I can look at random charts and already see the power of the waves.
Only one thing you will learn from this book is elliott wave applicable on 1 minute or 5 minute charts. This book is complete waste of time. nothing new . robert prechter's book is best. this book is just copy paste of rules from that book, still not perfect
Some say Elliot Waves is a bottomless pit, but if you're interested in Wave Theory, then you should probably read this book. It has lots of charts and the author lays a good foundation for Elliot Waves.
I bought this book expecting a good guide for Elliot waves principle and I truly found it, now I was able with my brother to develop a strategy and after a long time of blind trades finally our trades are having structure. I would recommend to read the book 2 times, actually take notes as if you were in college and study old charts to test the patters described on the book. It takes time, but at the end it would take you less time and won't be that frustrating if you follow EWP instead of blindly following indicators
