While quite the run of the mill thriller for 1975, this was the sixth in a series written by a man who would publish a defining novel in 8 years: "Gorky Park", by Martin Cruz Smith. The paperback original has the purported picture of the hero. He has the then obligatory massive head of hair and in the background, there is a Bondian girl, covered in gold leaf. A trip into nostalgia, as well as a pretty good heist story wrapped up in espionage. A new Arkady Renko is due out soon. I'm, glad I have an occasional chance to read his roots.
