Edie Melson is a woman of faith with ink-stained fingers who has been known to announce that she's creative out of self-defense. With an artist-mother and musician-turned-photographer-father, she'd have been a disgrace if she hadn’t been true to her own brand of creativity. She’s a writer who feels lost without her camera and a reluctant speaker who loves to encourage an audience. And she embraces the ultimate contradiction of being an organized creative.
As an instructor, she’s encouraged and challenged audiences across the country and around the world. Her numerous books, including the award-winning Soul Care series, reflect her passion to help others develop the strength of their God-given gifts and apply them to their lives. She lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where she spends time off hiking with her husband and her camera. Connect with her on www.EdieMelson.com and through social media.
Edie Melson has brought together the wounded hearts of families who must share the fear of their loved ones serving abroad in the military. Through her own experiences and the experiences of others she had woven a touching and helpful book on how to turn your fears to Christ while your loved ones serve. Excellent read.
This is a great book of devotions, stories, and encouragement to face fear and overcome it with faith and hope in God. I was moved as I read the stories of families who had to face their fears and worries about loved ones fighting overseas and how they looked to God for help. It helped me to know what they faced, and their faith was inspiring. It seems like God gave some of His best encouragement through the people who surrounded them. I want to be someone who regularly prays for and encourages friends and others who are in the military. What I saw again and again is that God's presence and the promises of His Word helped these writers the most. Edie Melson's stories and life principles will stay with me for a long time.
