One False Step

Rate this book
Could the Soviets have beaten the Americans to the Moon? Could NASA have launched a manned mission to the planet Venus, and explored the far side of the moon? 'One False Step' is a history of spaceflights that never happened, from the lost Apollo 18 to the saga of the Lunar Gemini - and the US Army's plan to build a missile base on the moon. Read about the glorious adventures that might have been...and very nearly were!

Space exploration

Very good reading, make one wonder why NASA was scare to venture out and grow caution and explore space, the moon along with an orbital space station. The just shot them self in the foot.

I just read the great "One False Step... by Richard Tongue", a really passionate and well researched book on the history of the space race and the missions that did not happen and why, some of the missions are so crazy they are almost beyond belief.

And it's the Best thing I have read this year
Made getting the kindle worthwhile
