Night Fall #8
My Sweet Succubus
My Immortal Knight, Book Eight
Melanie Bradshaw is driven to horny desperation by her torrid dreams. When she finally acts on her desires, things go horribly wrong and she witnesses the murder of an overly amorous lounge lizard—whose body disintegrates before her eyes.
Detective Moses Brown isn’t thrilled to get another “full-moon case”…until he meets the delectable Melanie, who took a walk on the wild side straight into vampire territory. Moses doesn’t know why vamps are interested in her, but until he can find out, he’s going to stick to her like glue, doing his best to ignore their instant attraction.
But pretty little Melanie has designs on his body. Her hunger for sex is voracious, even downright insatiable. How’s a brother to resist?
Publisher’s Note: This story was previously self-published under the title She’s All That.

Sometimes a girl is just in the mood for a quickie. That hot little fix to satisfy that urge to read something naughty, if only for an hour or two. My Sweet Succubus is just the cure for those of us erotica addicts looking for a sexy literary high.
Melanie Bradshaw is freaked out and scared. All she wanted was a one night hook up to relieve her loneliness. The erotic dreams that she keeps having have left her wanting. It seems that heading to the bar from her dreams would be the perfect way to find what she was looking for; mystery, sex, anonymity. What was not in the equation was witnessing a murder. Not only did Melanie watch a man disintegrate after being stabbed, but she could have sworn she saw fangs. Add to that the fact that the police thought she was crazy and she had pretty much had the worst night imaginable.
Detective Moses Brown has seen it all. After watching his partner Viper, turn into a vampire, he had become the man to call for the "full moon" cases. He was used to freak shows and weird cases and didn't think twice when he was called in for another one. He expects the snickers and jokes that come with the territory. What he did not realize, is that there was more than meets the eye to the petite, little, woman in the interrogation room. Melanie Bradshaw looked scared. She was not crazy like his co-workers thought but she was spooked and with good reason. What the hell was she doing in a vampire bar? Viper had seen her there and confirmed that she was wanted by their enemy for some reason. Being the protector that he is, Moses offers to stay and protect Melanie at her home until he figures out if she is truly in danger. The question is, is he? After an unexpected encounter Moses realizes that while he wants Melanie, he may need her even more.
This little quickie took me by surprise. While I am a huge Delilah Devlin fan, I have not read any of the stories from this series until now. I can easily say that I will be investigating the rest of the series as a result. Delilah is able to give enough background about the characters to gain interest without dragging things out. When things start to heat up, she gives plenty of details to get those wicked wheels turning in your head while adding those personal quirks individual to each character. What I enjoyed most was how accepting Moses is of Melanie's predicament and how willing he is to step out of his comfort zone and get uncomfortably kinky to ease her "need". Overall this was a hot and satisfying quickie for any paranormal fan and worth adding to the tbr list.

Can’t have love without pain
Moses is called to question a women taking about fangs dust. I takes a look at her and likes her. Melanie has dreams that she feels can’t be real. They stay the night together and something happens to her when she sleeps. Will her other personality hurt him or does she like him too much to hurt him? Come on in and find out.

I'm reading backward your story interesting.
Want to Read
July 1, 2012First off...WHOAH! The cover simply left me breathless! I so LOVE it and I can't believe I just heard about this now!! Now this book is definitely going to my MUST-READ list or else I'm gonna go crazy.
Well, I've been following Delilah Devlin's My Immortal Knight series and even though there were some books along the series/sequel that lacked much needed scenes to really show the story had been going at and there were a lot of hurried pacings. But anyway, all still went smoothly and started getting VERY interesting during their conflict between the **SPOILER! if you STILL haven't read ANY** mutant vampires (conflict started if I'm not mistaken around book Relentless)...and yeah, you heard me. MUTANT.
I really liked the flow of the story especially after Joe Garcia (from Book Endless Knight) started his adventure; the time when things started to get very interesting and so out of the usual paradigm. Although I've also read some books with the same idea that Ms. Devlin had. Well..depends with the writer, really.
Anyway...MUST READ! :)))

I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review...
I found this approach to the succubus concept inventive, interesting, and unexpected. The description of the succubus was also very sexy but also took a new and exciting direction. The author did not stick to the typical format for this genre which I did not expect her too but decided to have Melanie the not only find herself in a den of Vamps which triggers Moses' radar but has to be rescued by a slayer and she has no idea that she is in a den since she is following her dreams and libido. Lucky for her when she is sent to the police station Moses the king of all things super natural is on shift. He doesn't realize what he is getting into when he goes home to protect her. Can they survive the night? Will Melanie and Moses figure out why this super natural thing has touched her life?

Hot! My first Succubus story!
I have loved every one of the stories in the Night Fall series and this shorter novelette is no exception. I’ve never read a succubus story before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I actually had to look it up to find out what a succubus is.
While this book is part of the Nigh Fall series you don’t have to have read the others to enjoy this one. Melanie Bradshaw has witnessed something she shouldn’t have and when she reports a murder the cases is assigned to Detective Moses Brown. From the moment Moses lays eyes on her he is captivated.
The sparks really fly between Moses and Melanie and while part of that might be because she’s a succubus that doesn’t seem to matter to either of them. This story might be short but it’s HOT and I enjoyed it a lot!

Delilah Devlin never ceases to amaze me. Every time I read her books I find myself caught up in the wonderful world she’s created.
Even with this being a shorter story you get so much in the way of character development by Delilah. I fell in love with Melanie and even felt bad for her. Moses was strong and capable and the need the two felt for each other pulled me in.
This is a must read right along with the other books in this series. I am going to have to go back and once again add some other books to my TBR. But do know that this book is done so well it can be read as a stand alone.

My only complaint, this book was too short.
It's basically an erotica novella. It's insta-love, two smut scenes, but it's built up so well, you want to know the other characters, Navarro+Sydney; Viper+His Wife.
I may definitely look into reading more books by Delilah. A good one hour, I-Need-An-Erotica-Fix book.
