In Kisses from a Good God, Paul Manwaring brings a theology of healing through medical doctor's to a movement badly needing to receive it. Though believing for a miracle of healing for his diagnosis of prostate cancer, Manwaring receives "kisses" from God through many various ways, ultimately having surgery in order to be declared cancer free.

Surgeons and medical professionals don't bring a second class healing, he contends, and that chapter alone was wonderful and badly needed to be heard in our movement. Though many will accuse him for lack of faith at this point, I believe he presents a truly biblical, holistic view of healing.

Through his own story, the ups and the many downs, he shows how good God is in the midst of this ordeal, and encourages anyone going through a tough circumstance or illness to trust in the goodness of the God of heaven, knowing that he is a God of the supernatural, but he has also gifted many with medical knowledge to be relied on.

This story will answer many of your own questions and inner thoughts that have never been addressed from the Charismatic movement. But Manwaring did a masterful job at revealing the goodness of God in the midst of suffering, and in particular, when breakthrough doesn't come how you originally expected.

I'm two thirds of the way through this book and so far it's an interesting, inspiring, quick and easy read. I'd recommend it to anyone who may struggle reconciling their faith/belief with their physical life experience so far.
