An excellent reference, covering every aspect you need to consider - especially the invisible ones which are easy to miss! Most articles/books cover composite vs wood, maintenance and code, but they don't all include suggestions for protecting the supporting beams, for the best place to install stairways lighting, or little finishing touches which make the job look professional..

Each chapter is written by a pro of many years' experience, and it shows. If you're just looking for an idea of what to do, or how to do it, this book works; if you want to know the specifics, this book works. I suspect that even if you've built a few decks and are a competent builder/craftsman you'd still find some useful info in here.
