Rate this book

Foreword by Jillian Michaels

One of the most successful contestants on NBC’s The Biggest Loser shares his time-tested fitness program, which has helped hundreds of his students lose weight . . . and keep it off.

Pete Thomas weighed more than 400 pounds when he landed on the NBC hit reality show The Biggest Loser. Nine months later, he won the $100,000 prize after losing a whopping 185 pounds. Determined to help others, he now teaches a weight-loss program that has led to lasting results in hundreds of students from all walks of life. In Lose It Fast, Lose It Forever, he makes his phenomenal four-step process available to everyone.

Raised in and out of foster care because of his mother’s mental illness, Thomas knew the pain of physical and emotional hunger throughout his childhood. This has given him special insight as a weight-loss coach, and his turnaround is a remarkable testament to his program. These fundamentals provide lasting results: start with a commitment to lose just one pound at a time; create transformational life changes in your mind, mouth, and muscles; get rid of even those last, few, pesky extra pounds; and learn how to maintain a lifetime of fitness and health. Easy-to-implement action steps will keep readers motivated.

With recent achievements that include completing two triathlons and delivering the keynote address at the National Congress on Obesity, Thomas’s inspiring story will help all readers discover the winner within.

The four steps for lasting success of weight loss according to Pete Thomas are:

1) Your Power--begin to master your mind by making a lasting commitment to focus on your own health

2) Your Plan-create lasting life hates as you manage your mouth and multiply your muscles

3) Your Pursuit-get rid of every extra pound fast-here you'll find charts of his meal and exercise plans to assist you with getting started.

4) Purpose: enjoy a lifetime of fitness and health as you maintain the permanent new you forever. Review, Revise, Repeat, Reward and Reach Back to make this step a reality.

I really feel as though Pete is, in part, fulfilling his sense of purpose through sharing what has worked for him to achieve then maintain his weight loss for 7+ years. This is not a book to make him a fortune, but to help others find the path to weigh loss success themselves.

HOWEVER, I do feel his new website is where he really plans to make his $$. The downloads mentioned in the book are nowhere to be found, or if they are there, they are difficult to find and require signing up to be a member of his site--feel free to clue me in on this, if you actually find the downloadable forms.

This is one of the best Health and Fitness type books I have read. Pete's experience with the Biggest Loser helps him to help others.

I agree with another reviewer that it annoying that the book keeps directing you to Pete's website for worksheets but they are not available anywhere on his website.

The content is great and has helped me to figure out a couple of things that I have been having a hard time with. His explanations are super clear and his exercise descriptions are easy to follow.

The book itself is pretty good. I do find it disappointing that when I go to his website to access the downloads that are described in the book that there are no downloads to be accessed. This is frustrating.
