Information Technology and the Criminal Justice System

Rate this book
Information Technology and the Criminal Justice System suggests that information technology in criminal justice will continue to challenge us to think about how we turn information into knowledge, who can use that knowledge, and for what purposes. In this text, editor April Pattavina synthesizes the growing body of research in information technology and criminal justice. Contributors examine what has been learned from past experiences, what the current state of IT is in various components of the criminal justice system, and what challenges lie ahead.

Chances are if you are reading this book, it's because you have to. And therefore you don't need me to tell you that this is BY FAR the most boring book I have ever read. I cannot fathom that somebody took the time to write something like this, and it surprises me that yet another person took the time to read it and decide it needs to be required material.

I read the preface and though, ok the pages must get smaller and it has to get a little more interesting when it gets into the content. Boy was I wrong

Now in the books defense, I have managed not to have to read any of my previous required textbooks for quite some time, so there is a very good chance that they were as boring as this, but sadly since I actually have to read this book, it has earned the title of "most boring book I have ever read".

I've been reading this book at the same time that Wimbledon and the World Cup are on TV. And believe it or not, both of those are more exciting options to occupy my time. That's just a small example of how absolutely terrible this book is.
