This is an excellent overview of the competencies, roles, and areas of expertise needed in the workplace learning and performance profession. It serves as a useful roadmap for identifying, evaluating, and developing skills in yourself (or your team). I read this with the idea that it would help me prepare for the CPLP certification exam, but I found the practice exam CD-ROM and the flash card learning system from ASTD to be much more useful in this regard. Unlike those resources, I do expect that I will return to this book as a good reference when working on personal and professional development activities in the future.
