What do DNA strands, shape shifters, renegade warriors, Roman baths, and a laser gun toting lunatic have in common? Apparently, Dr. Amelia Chase.
Some things a woman can never prepare for. Like being locked inside her own home with a maniac who insists that she inject him with a highly unstable virus and help him liberate a planet. Oh, but Amelia’s not a hostage, she’s an employee. Bad enough he’s so eager to die, but he keeps asking for far more than her doctor-patient responsibilities. And the longer Amelia spends with him, the more reasonable it all seems. The trouble comes when reason starts to fail her.
All Gabriel has left to lose is his life, which he will gladly give up if he can take his enemies down with him. To do that, he’ll need an advantage only Dr. Chase can provide—if she agrees. With the face of an angel and the devil’s hand on her shoulder, every rumor about the female has turned out to be true, and Gabriel soon finds there is something he desires even more than his long overdue revenge. But the wheels have already been set in motion and there may be far more at stake than Gabriel ever realized…
Alianne Donnelly was a wordsmith long before she became a reader. Driven by an insatiable curiosity about everything from history and mythology to science and philosophy, she grew into a fiction writer who hates coloring inside the genre lines. Her books all have elements of romance, with different series sorted under paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and erotic. And then there’s Wolfen…
Alianne lives in California, doing hard time in a corporate 9-5, while secretly scribbling away any chance she gets. She loves pizza, hiking, and avoiding small talk, and hopes to one day win the lottery jackpot. For more information about Alianne's books and writerly life, visit her website: aliannedonnelly.com

She watched her sister die several times while she hoped they got the final serum balanced enough to her live another day. Amelia is exhausted. He put himself in his current dire state, but now he feels the need to change the status quo for some very honorable reasons and he is will to do some unethical things to see this through. This is how Gabriel finds himself with Amelia and his subterfuge of employment. He never could have imagined that he would take Amelia into the bowels of the hell that he had only temporarily dragged himself out of. Gabriel soon finds that Amelia is far more important that his revenge.
The books that I get to rave about for this reason are few and far between. I love a well played villain. I want the to read a ruthless, twisted, sick freak for a villain. Villains should incite fear. I want the hero and heroine to have an opponent to fight with that makes the end happily ever after result something that they truly had to fight for. The villain in the pages of Blood Debt is one sick person, the reasons behind everything that has been done are shockers, this is one master manipulator and I think a new favorite villain has just moved to my list of most memorable ones.
There are just so many amazing aspects of Blood Debts. I loved Gabriel. He is a very noble hero even though he never saw himself that way. Amelia is a woman that has left me with just meh feeling up to this point in The Blood Series. I really liked her here. She was witty and independent, she never seemed self righteous as she had before. She became human in her own book. The setting that Gabriel and Amelia shifted to at about halfway through the book totally wowed me. Gabriel has spoke of it to Amelia, but until the moment they are physically there its just not the same. Now the number one reason to run and buy this book is that there is a sexy big cat gladiator hero that you just have to read to figure out how that works.
Blood Debts is just as amazing as the previous ( Blood Moons and Blood Trails) two books in the Blood series. Yes, you can read this book as a standalone but if you're like me you're going to want to know the entire back story as it happened so just read the entire series. Dr. Amelia Chase is the sister of Hailey Chase the heroine of Blood Trails and was the doctor who treated Tristan the hero of Blood Moons . See I told ya you're going to want to read the series !
In Blood Debts she is the employed by renegade warrior Gabriel Connors. Despite Gabriel's unconventional hiring practices (he holds her hostage until she agrees to work for him) Gabriel is instantly likable. Amelia and Gabriel are attracted to each other from the start and their smart ass dialogue will have laughing out loud. I was totally immersed in the story and had a hard time putting Blood Debts down. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series.
I am a huge fan of Alianne Donnelly's Blood Series. Blood Debts most definitely did not disappoint. I love the characters in this book. Gabriel and Amelia have their own agendas, and histories and when they come together the story heats up. I've loved each of the characters in Alianne Donnellly's past books in this series. Since reading the first two books in the series: Blood Moons and Blood Trails, I have been curious as to what future Doctor Amelia would have. I was hoping she would get a shifter of her own, and I was excited to find out that she not only finally gets her shifter, but creates him as well.
I was amazed at the setting for this story. Not only is it unique, but I also found it to be familiar. I seem to know more about Ancient Rome setting and the Gladiators than I ever imagined I did. Now I'm even more intrigued! Oh My who can resist Continue Reading
On a path for revenge, Gabriel sets out to persuade Dr. Chase to give him an advantage only she can provide, even if it costs him his life but once the wheels have already been set in motion he realizes there is more at stake than he realized in this mesmerizing futuristic romance. Spine tingling tension builds throughout the story as the danger escalates and Amelia and Gabriel are used as pawns against each other in a mad woman’s game. To be perfectly honest, I was unsure about the book at the beginning but I am certainly glad that I stuck it out and the author has certainly caught my interest. This is the first book that I’ve read in this series – and I will be remedying that – and I found it to be enjoyable, entertaining and an intriguing blend of past history in a unique future setting that grabs the reader’s interest and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Wow. Was absolutely swept away by Gabriel and Amelia's story. The Author has brought two of my favorite genre's (Historical and Sci-Fi) together in one hell of an action packed drama. Alianne's description of a futuristic Ancient Rome was amazing, I almost felt I was watching the series Spartacus again. Can't believe I took SO long to read this amazing series and can NOT wait until the next in the series is released.
