A collection of stories by Newbery award winners and honorees includes works by Elizabeth Coatsworth, Lois Lenski, Charles Boardman Hawes, and Will James.

I was surprised (and disappointed) at several repeated authors from another volume in this series. Again, it only includes excerpts from the early Newbery years. I really liked the title story by Elizabeth Coatsworth, another new-to-me classic author. My favorite was a Christmas story by Lois Lenski, A Day of Work and No Cheer.
