Three Weeks in May

Rate this book
To passersby, the small crowd shivering in the frigid February morning is nothing special. But to the many couples huddled together braving the icy wind, it is the most important day of their lives. This day is the Ceremony of Moons-the day when the Matchmaker possesses the power to make their dreams of sharing a life together come true.
For Gwendolyn Elani Tolliver, it is something wonderfully mystical and exciting. It is her first ceremony, and her first step to becoming the Human wife of a Monacurian man-Elliot-the love of her life.
When the Matchmaker denies Gwen and Elliot's request to unite in marriage, their happiness becomes a forgotten fantasy. Rather than wait the mandated three months to stand before the Matchmaker again, Gwen embarks on a relentless journey for an explanation to her denial.
Her search for answers may lead to a darker future for all of Humankind-a future made darker still as Gwen realizes that she may lose Elliot forever.

I thought this would be a straightforward love story set in a futuristic world but it turned out to be much more than that. Full of twists and turns, I was pleasantly surprised most of the way. A good read.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Cherese A. Vines is a fantastic writer. All of her work is quite enjoyable to read. It's very descriptive, colorful, and she has a way of bringing so much life to her characters and to her story that I can actually visualize what I'm reading in her writing. I am a huge fan of Cherese's writing and Three Weeks in May is by far my favorite book of hers as of yet. It's just a truly engaging story of a woman's struggle over choosing her own happiness or saving humanity. I could not put the book down. It is not what you would expect it to be. It's not just a regular paranormal romance about otherworldly beings falling in love. Nothing like that! It is so much deeper and very much entertaining and I love stories with twists and this one definitely had them. The book is also filled with action, suspense, romance of course, and everything you want a great story to have. TWO THUMBS UP!!! I wont be surprised if there is a film version made from this novel. And I hope there is a sequel to the book!

Truly enjoyed Gwen's and Elliot's story. This is not a typical love story. There are twists and turns and truly unexpected situations to be overcome by this couple. The author did an excellent job creating a futuristic earth and keeping this reader on the "edge of her seat." Near the end, which I won't spoil, I did get a bit confused about the timelines and the affect they were having on the present time. Aside from that "little" bump, I would encourage anyone to read this novel.
