A short memoir of how veteran actor Shavar Ross landed the role of Dudley Ramsey, Gary Coleman's best friend on the hit television series "Diff'rent Strokes."
Shavar talks about The First Day On The Set: meeting Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato and what it was like going to school (on the set) with the cast members. Shavar also gives details about the fun things he did with Gary such as the sleep overs, bowling, and other fun times they had as real life friends.
Shavar mentions what the seasonal wrap parties on the show was like and reminisces about doing the very last episode of the show.

Shavar Malik Ross (born March 4, 1971) is an American actor, film director, screenwriter, film producer, editor, photographer, author, and entrepreneur. He is known for his recurring television roles as Dudley Ramsey on the NBC sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, and as Weasel on the ABC sitcom Family Matters.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was fairly young when Diff’rent Strokes went off the air, but grew up watching reruns. I recently started rewatching it as an adult and can now appreciate the show’s storylines and the acting. I love Shavar Ross’ storytelling and writing- it’s like he’s talking to a friend- he keeps it real. I loved hearing about his experiences on set and with the cast. I would love to read about his other experiences in Hollywood, like his time on Family Matters. I think this is a most read for any fan of the show or fan of Mr. Ross.
