having Taqwa is so very important because i have learnt that unless you have the taqwa of Allah, being practicing or religious doesn’t make you a good muslim! 💯
One of Islam's fundamental principles of worship is having Fear of Allah alongside Love and Hope. With love and hope, Alhamdulillah I've never struggled with but fear I struggle with, mainly because I see Allah through the lens of mercy and kindness. As much as that is fine, it's important to have Taqwa as it's imperative to fear the wrath of Allah and strive our best to not anger him. It's a very fine line to tread but its an issue I have to continue working on.
This book does a great job as it shows the benefits of fearing Allah, as its split into two segments. How it benefits you in the Dunya and how it benefits you in the Aaqirah. It is a very easy read as after benefit it mentions an Ayah from the Quraan that backs up on. Mainly in the dunya, it focuses on building a relationship with Allah using tawakkul, how having Taqwa works in aiding forgiveness from Allah and the benefits of abstinence. While in the second half, it has a positive view of how all the fear we have of Allah will be rewarded with infinite blessings in paradise and how pleased Allah is when following his rules.
Overall it was an eye-opening read as it indicates how to balance all the elements of worship and the significance of Fear when worshipping Allah.
