Offering a launching pad for you to burst into the realm of creative expression--that fun, fantasy world where the Creator is waiting to welcome you. There is a connection between creativity, your identity, the Church, and the world--and it is an important connection. Creativity is tied to all believers' identity, all who are made in the image of the Creator, all who are born to create! Overflowing with many thrilling, modern-day testimonies, Born to Create emphasizes the magnitude of both craft--practice and excellence--as well as anointing. Many who have been freed to embrace their creative ideas and passions, whether in the art fields, business, or education, share their amazing stories with you. Their freedom allowed them to powerfully release healing, the prophetic, and the knowledge of God's love into the marketplace. Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law... (Galatians 6:1 The Message). You will learn how the supernatural can be activated through what you create, and you will explore hindrances from understanding your creative destiny--your true identity.

Wow what an amazing book that will encourage the reader to Go through the wardrobe door and experience a whole new world like Narnia by seeing things from a different perspective. As you read this book you will really be encouraged knowing that God is so creative so you can be really creative too. I really felt that God awakened a new level of creativity to explore limitless possibilities. I really enjoyed reading about how the Holy Spirit awakens us to the goodness of God and power of transformation. I love the healing stories of how God clearly transformed people’s lives through dance, worship, drama and writings. I really recommend this book for anyone who is feeling dry and thirsty, they will be encouraged to take s leap of faith and fly above the circumstances of their lives and they will begin to see life differently in colour as they will start co-operating with God and seeing the limitless possibilities of their expectations as God moves on their behalf. I'm definitely going to read this book again . I LOVED IT!
“Born to Create” is a must read for every Christian. Theresa Dedmon, no doubt an anointed lover of God has plainly set out a clear path for us to grow in intimacy with the Almighty and Creator of the Universe. She encourages and models how to return to our childlike state, which opens our hearts for the Holy Spirit to empower us in Supernatural ways, realizing the prophecy that Jesus gave “we would do even greater works than him, through him. Included are many testimonies and examples of miracles, signs and wonders offering us to surely walk in the power as the disciples we read of in Jesus time on earth. This has convicted me, inspired me and activated me to pursue walking in deeper intimacy and love for the God and my neighbor.
I loved this book! It really opened my eyes to what was missing in the mix of my spiritual and physical makeup. I always thought that I was not artistic but Theresa has shown how even simple drawings of stick figures can set someone free from bondages and allow Jesus to take center stage in their lives. I used some of her teachings with the children in our kids church and although they were apprehensive at first (waiting to get words of knowledge)they soon realised that they too can hear from the Holy Spirit and their drawings were well received from the ones who needed ministering to.
I recommend this book to everyone who believes that they are not artistic or that the arts don't belong in a church or ministering setting - your mind will be changed!
8/2018 I appreciate the emphasis this book puts on the value of the arts in ministry. When people have different learning and worship styles, it is important to include a wide spectrum of arts in church life. However, the theology of this book is troublesome. We are not all prophets and we cannot just follow a few steps and then prophesy or heal someone using the arts. Prophetic balloon animals was pushing the author's ideas a bit too far. Too much "we need to grab, we need to take back, and we need to do" rather than humbly following God's lead and guidance.
I've never found a book like this before, about how creativity and our artistic side connects to Christian life. Christianity seems very absent from the arts scene these days, and it doesn't have to be. I've wished that there was more art inspired by Christian experience. I bought this book at a Theresa Dedmon conference, and I was very inspired by her. The book is also very practical about living as a Christian artist.
Absolutely loved this book. It is such an eye opener & helped me see my creativity from a whole new perspective. God is the Ultimate Creator & we were created in His image, hence every one of us are creative. This book will hekp you see yourself from God's perspective & help you find your identity & purpose in Christ.
In her book “Born to Create” Theresa Dedmon beautifully captures the essence of who we are in the creative sense, as God’s children. Our loving father, in his infinite wisdom, has crafted each one of us as individuals with unique giftings and abilities, and deeply desires that we draw upon these for His glory. The King of kings has given us honor, and He bids us to come and be seated with Him in heavenly places so that we might know His immeasurable grace and kindness. God has placed within each one of us the ability to create, and He wants us to be all that He has intended, without fear of failure, or falling short of His glory. He loves us and desires excellence, and as Mrs. Dedmon points out, God’s love is without condition, but one of unmeritious favor. We are indeed free in Christ, and that freedom includes the unbridled liberty to create and become the expressed image of His creation here on Earth. So often in this life, we feel unworthy to pursue God’s ideal for our lives because of some nagging sin or improper relationship mindset that the enemy has burdened us with, but the reality is, that just like the prodigal son, we are always accepted by our Father and He is always waiting for us, with open arms, to restore our relationship and come running back to Him. We are truly sons and daughters of God, and brokers of Heaven, and God eagerly wants us to walk in the fullness of that inheritance. This book contains many illustrations of God’s goodness through miracles and testimonies demonstrated through Mrs. Dedmon’s ministry at Bethel Church and in and around her community of Redding, California. You will be encouraged to step out and pursue your calling and destiny in Christ like never before, after reading this book, knowing that God has intended that very thing for you all along, since the moment He created you. All of creation is longing for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed (Romans 8:22-25). This book was given to me free of charge for review by Destiny Image Publishers.
I started reading this book over a year ago, when I had a lot on my plate and was not making much time for reading each week. Even though it took me a long time to get through, it was not because the book was hard slog - it was not. This is an exciting book which opened my heart and mind to new levels of creativity and imagination, learning how to partner with the Holy Spirit in blessing others through my creativity. We were created in the image of our Creator God, therefore we are all, by nature, creative people! This book has inspired me to share this truth with others and see others set free in creative ways.
This book is amazing!!! If you want to think differently about how God can use creativity in any part of your life by linking into the Holy Spirit, then this is definitely the book for you. It opens up your mind to a whole different way of looking at us as creative beings carrying God's creative DNA so that everything we do can be creative. But also looks at how we can bless others with that creativity and reach out to a broken world.
I thought a very good book, it helped me to get back to the gift God gave me into being creative and imaginative with old thrown out household items, yards sale finds and flower. I'm thankful, because I was depressed and had lost interest in these things, it helped inspire me.
Read a lot of confirming thoughts about who we are as created in the image of God...creative. Creative no matter its expression...in business, artistically, etc....and the power that can have in touching others.
Anyone who has read my blog (AMOKArts.com) would know this is a book that is right up my alley, using creativity in ministry and as such, this book surely does not disappoint. While this book is great for creatives, there is another group that could probably use this book even more and that is people who do not believe they are creative. Dedmon tears down so many of the walls people build around their own creativity. I have always believed myself to be a creative and truthfully this book even felt liberating to me.
There is a wealth of information here from someone who is at the forefront of creative ministry and everyone could be blessed by reading it. I think at the ore of the message of this book is the idea that creativity is a gift from God that can, and must be used, in a multitude of ways to the glory of God and for His Kingdom. You were born to create. If you don’t believe that, you need to read this book and if you do believe it, read it anyway, it will spur you on to even greater love and good deeds.
