Since 1963 Robert Rauschenberg has used the medium of poster art to announce his own exhibitions, advertise concerts and dance productions, and address social and political issues such as the environment, apartheid, and international understanding. In all, he has produced a body of some 140 posters. This publication unites 60 of the artist's finest works, from all phases of his stylistic development.
Great book for getting the feel for the art of Robert Rauschenberg. I've been mesmerized by the cover art of this book since first seeing the large original print version that was featured on the television show "Frasier". I have since acquired my own original print of the artwork, but there's a lot more to Rauschenberg than that one print. I believe he was an artist of incredible depth and insight and encourage anyone interested to discover his message for yourself.
