The book also discusses simulation execution on parallel and distributed machines and concepts for simulation model realization based on the High Level Architecture (HLA) standard of the Department of Defense.

Maybe the newer version is more relevant, but this version is limited by the computing power available at the time of the writing. While I understand the usefulness of the formalisms that Zeigler is promoting, I don't seem them being applied in practice to any large simulation like the Future Elderly Model. It is certainly possible, but would it be worth it?
