November 14, 2023I'D READ THIS BOOK ABOUT SIX & A HALF YEARS AGO & SURPRISED THAT I'M JUST GETTING AROUND TO GIVING A REVIEW OF WHAT OCCURRED IN THE BOOK. JAMAL PERKINS, WHO REFERS TO HIMSELF AS "PRINCE", ONLY SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT VIDEO GAMES & DEVIRGINZING YOUNG GULLIBLE TEEN GIRLS, AS HE DEVELOPS AN INTERESTING CRUSH ON HIS HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER, WHOM HE LATER DISCOVERS IS...... A WELL-KNOWN STRIPPER AT A LOCAL CLUB. THOSE WHO READ THIS BOOK KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER HUGE & DOWNRIGHT DISGUSTING REVELATION INVOLVING JAMAL & HIS TEACHER MS. MACKLIN!
ONE DAY HIS MOM & STEPFATHER WERE SUMMONED TO THE HIGH SCHOOL BY THE ADMINISTRATOR & HIS TEACHER DUE TO HIS BEHAVIOR. THE CREEPY STEPDAD RECOGNIZED MS. MACKLIN FROM A LOCAL OUT OF THE WAY STRIP CLUB & SHARED THE SHOCKING INFO WITH JAMAL, WHO AT FIRST HAD NOT BELIEVED HIS STEPPOP UNTIL ONE NIGHT THEY ATTENDED THE STRIP CLUB & JAMAL WAS STUNNED YET EXCITED TO SEE THAT HIS TEACHER HAD A VERY INTERESTING NIGHT GIG, WHICH ONLY MADE HIM LUST AFTER HER MORE!
JAMAL SPENT TIME ON WEEKENDS AT MS. MACKLIN'S HOUSE FIRST PAINTING & OTHER ODD JOBS, THEN HE FOUND HIMSELF IN HER BED ON MANY OCCASIONS, WHICH WOULD MAKE THE TEACHER...... A CHILD PREDATOR.....AMONG OTHER THINGS. LET'S PUT A PIN IN THAT FOR A MOMENT.
ALL THE WHILE JAMAL IS MAKING A FEW DOLLARS DOING WHAT HE DO WHEN HE DO WHAT HE DOES IN THOSE STREETS.
JAMAL & HIS FRIEND LEARN THE HARD WAY ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF UTILIZING CONDOMS WHEN JAMAL'S MOM HAS TO TAKE THEM BOTH T THE FREE CLINIC TO BE TREATED FOR STI'S!
JAMAL LEARNED ANOTHER HARD LESSON ABOUT TEEN PATERNITY CLAIMS AS WELL.
WITH HIS BOY LOCKED UP IN JAIL ON SOME SERIOUS CHARGES JAMAL TRIES EVERYTHING TO HELP GET HIS HOMIE OUT OF JAIL BUT REALIZES TO ONLY WAY TO GET BAIL MONEY FOR HIS FRIEND IS IF HE WORKS FOR HIS DRUG DEALING BIOLOGICAL POPS, WHICH HE GOES AGAINST HIS ORIGIANL-I DON'T NEED OR WANT NOTHING FROM THAT N*GGA WHO HELPED IN HIS CONCEPTION. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION.
"PRINCE"(JAMAL) MET UP WITH HIS BIO POPS WHILE VISITING THE STRIP CLUB WHERE HIS TEACHER/ADULT LOVER WORKS & DESPITE THE TENSION BETWEEN THEM A DEAL IS MADE FOR "PRINCE" TO WORK FOR HIS POPS. WHILE MAKING MONEY & TREATING HIS TEACHER/ADULT LOVER TO NICE THINGS JAMAL MOVES OUT OF HIS MOMS' HOUSE & GET HIS OWN PLACE WHERE HE & MS. MACKLIN ARE SPENDING TIME SCREWING EACH OTHER ON HIS FUTON BED.

IT WAS WHEN MS. MACKLIN SAID A VERY FAMILIAR NAME AS HER DAD THAT CAUSED JAMAL TO PAY CLOSER ATTENTION & COME TO A SICKENING REALIZATION! JAMAL'S DAD HAS THE SAME NAME & OCCUPATION AS MS. MACKLIN'S DAD!

WHOM HE HAD BEEN SCREWING FOR MONTHS WAS LAYING COMPLETELY NAKED.....RUNNING TO THROW UP & DRY HEAVE OVER THE COMMODE IN THE BATHROOM.... MUCH TO THE SURPRISE OF MS. MACKLIN... IS WHEN "PRINCE" HAD TO DISCLOSE TO MS. MACKLIN THAT.... THEY.. HE & SHE.... SHARED.... THE ....SAME....GENETIC MATERIAL! JAMAL "PRINCE" PERKINS DISCLOSED TO HIS TEACHER/ADULT LOVER.... THAT... THEY WERE SIBLINGS!
MAKING THINGS EVEN MORE COMPLICATED FOR THE NEWLY REVEALED HALF SIBLINGS WAS THE DISTURBING REVELATION THAT THEY MAY HAVE.... CONCEIVED A CHILD, THAT THE TEACHER HAD MADE THE DECISION TO TERMINATE HER PREGNANCY, AT FIRST DUE TO NOT KNOWING WHETHER HER NOW HALF BROTHER "PRINCE" OR HER BOSS/THE HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, WHOM SHE WAS ALSO SCREWING ON THE DL WAS THE FATHER OF HER NOW DELETED UNBORN!
DESPITE ALL OF THIS, I FOUND THE BOOK TO BE QUITE INTERESTING & BEING COMPLETING SHOCKED BY THE REPULSIVE REVELATION OF THE TWO LOVERS BEING RELATED.

No Way Out
"Street Soldier" by Silhouettes is a captivating and stimulating story that takes you into the mind of a teenage boy. Jamal resides in an impoverished neighborhood and is being raised by his mother. His mother does not show the love he so desperately desires. Instead, Jamal has no love for anyone and tends to run the streets for food and money on a daily basis and practices unprotected sex regularly. He feels that his world is changing fast as he begins to find himself in more complicated situations than he can handle. Instead of turning to someone for help, Jamal turns to the only thing he knows...the streets. He is determined to be a man that handles his own at all times. Will Jamal make the right decisions before it is too late? Or will Jamal live and die by the streets?
I recommend "Street Soldier" to all the young readers, especially males to maybe help them discover their true meaning in life. This novel is very good and demonstrated good quality reading. I like the way the author keeps the suspense throughout the novel so the reader stays intrigued. I look forward to more novels from the author Silhouettes in the future.

Jamal Prince Perkins is not your average teen. In the school of hard knocks, he could be the teacher. His life has been nothing pretty but it never is for a street soldier. What exactly is a street soldier? Well, its a person who does any and everything they deem necessary to survive and if they get a couple of war wounds along the way, they were them proudly and learn from them. With shady friends, female drama and a temptation to appealing to resist, Jamal is bound to have some serious soldier marks.
I really liked this read. It was from a young man's point of view growing up in a cruel world. The plot was fast paced and there was a lot of drama at every turn. The character development was on point and made you feel like you knew them and felt what they were feeling. Can't wait to see what goes down in book 2 with Prince.
