A good book, although somewhat dated, on organic gardening. The multiple contributors have written on such far-reaching topics as soil health, composting, mulching, plant care, plant growing, and pest management. While this version was a little dry at times, it was still very informative and worth reading as a primer on organic gardening.
You can ignore the word organic in the title if you wish. This is a basic vegetable gardening book covering 41 species. It was one of my first gardening books back in the early 70's when I went 'back to the land'. If you want to know when or how deep to plant, plant and row spacing, how much seed to buy, yield, watering, companion planting, soil, insecticides, harvesting, storage and, of course, the organic way, this handy size (377 pages) paperback book is for you.
This is an organic gardening classic! It is definitely worth reading for anyone who wants to learn about organic gardening and put that learning into practice.
