This volume presents the furniture and household objects, especially those of wood and metal, of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. With a focus on about 60 designers, hundreds of color photographs display the Scandinavian Modern style that began in the 1930s and culminated in the 1970s. Collector Michael Ellison and Leslie Pi±a (historic preservation, Ursuline College) include an introduction with historical timeline, as well as appendices of furniture makers and designers, distributors, and sources. One of my favorite books on mid century modern furnishings. I consult it often as a general reference. Always a good starting point, great pictures that allow the reader to discern details.
