This volume is an exhibition catalog of the Georgia Museum of Art's show of drawings and graphics by Maltby Sykes. Includes illustrations and essays of the works.
An exhibition catalog with three essays that add insight into Sykes's life as well as his art, plus some rich reproductions of his work. Great to see some documentation of an important artist, especially as a printmaker, who spent most of his career in Alabama, even though he was connected to the art centers in NYC and Paris.
Mainstream art history has just a few spots for artists from an era and it's great to read and discover those left out of most textbooks.
