Sister Issues

Rate this book
A ten year age difference between half sisters Cher Smithfield and Ariel Taylor is not the only thing that divides them. From day one they’ve clashed about nearly everything, including Ariel’s crush on Cher’s ex-husband. Ariel, at 28, is still trying to find herself, while Cher has a perfect life managing a family property. She lives upstairs and runs a coffee shop, on the main floor. Then Cher’s stepfather divides the property, giving half to Ariel. Ariel has no blood claim to the property, and Cher once again is forced to overcome her little sister’s stubborn ideas of what is fair and right. For Ariel, turning the coffee shop into a full service restaurant is a no-brainer. For Cher, it means her quiet life and sweet oasis has just turned into chaos.

Reader, writer, and former professional book critic for RT Book Reviews and Publishers Weekly. This is why I only give 3, 4 or 5 star reviews. I do not finish reading books that fall below that level. Life is too short to read bad books!

Cher's life was simple, she ran "The Sugar Shack" a small coffee shop with a friendly set of regular clientele. She lived above the shop and sewed in her spare time. Then Ariel her flighty sister decided that she wanted an active role in the business, just as Cher had taken on Emma, her school friend, as a partner. Between them Emma and Ariel bubble over with ways to expand the place into a thriving restaurant, whilst Cher hates the changes. We are taken on a rollercoaster ride with their lives, loves and losses. Cynthia has written a great story full of characters who learn to overcome their problems and move forward with their lives.

I wrote this book. Of course I love it. Our books are like our children, we love them without judgement. However, the real reason I gave myself 5 stars was because the zero reviews was too sad for words. I had to obliterate it.
