John Harold Saxon Jr. (1923-1996)was an American mathematics educator who authored or co-authored and self-published a series of textbooks, collectively using an incremental teaching style which became known as Saxon math.
I am currently working my way through this book in conjunction with watching the MIT open courseware Physics lectures (available through iTune University). This book is great about breaking down concepts into small, easy to grasp lessons then building on those ideas until it all fits together and makes sense. I also like that the problem set for each lesson reviews previous lessons in addition to the current concepts being taught. This way you don't touch on a subject once then never return to it, you can continue to build and review on concepts until you really understand them.
