Forex Price Action Scalping provides a unique look into the field of professional scalping. Packed with countless charts, this extensive guide on intraday tactics takes the reader straight into the heart of short-term speculation. The book is written to accommodate all aspiring traders who aim to go professional and who want to prepare themselves as thoroughly as possible for the task ahead. Few books have been published, if any, that take the matter of scalping to such a fine and detailed level as does Forex Price Action Scalping. Hundreds of setups, entries and exits (all to the pip) and price action principles are discussed in full detail, along with the notorious issues on the psychological side of the job, as well as the highly important but often overlooked aspects of clever accounting. The book, counting 358 pages, opens up a wealth of information and shares insights and techniques that are simply invaluable to any scalper who is serious about his trading.
A good way to learn some basic price action setups, which I believe could be applied to any time frame. The author specifically focuses on trading EUR/USD off of the 70 tick chart. The fundamental ideas presented are good and important, while the names he applies to the setups, and the specific timeframe he chose to trade, I believe are irrelevant. This book was more approachable than Al Brooks' price action books, so I appreciate it for that reason, and it was good enough that I will probably try to read his other book as well.
The thing about Bob Volman's books is you can't possibly read them in one sitting and not try to practice his set-ups as you flip the pages. That's the only way to retain information from this book.
This book is completely difficult to digest and if you're not practicing to spot the set-ups as you flip the pages, all of what's been said just goes in one ear and out the other.
That being said, this book is an excellent way to find out if scalping is for you. It's a comprehensive book geared to show the reader all there is about the profession and what it takes to be a consistent and profitable scalper. Plenty of set-ups will be presented over and over again to ingrain the techniques to the marrow.
If you want to learn the simplest way to scalp, this book is the best way to go. No fancy indicators, just one chart. Everything you need to learn is here: chart selection, price behavior, pattern recognition, favorable and unfavorable markets, set-ups, entries and exits, targets and stops, traps and tricks, psychological issues, and accounting matters.
The book serves as a journey. As you delve into the specifics of the many things a scalper must perfect in herself, by the time one is done with this book, she wouldn't recognize the older version of herself anymore.
