Why are there not more books set in South America!? I knew this one was a children’s book when I borrowed it, but I often think of Peru and adore portals that take me back there which this story offered. While it was fairly basic, I appreciated the snippets of Peruvian landscapes and the culture of the Andes. I’m not sure how historically accurate it is, if it is, it’s a great way to passively learn som history. The extremely short chapters at the start were a bit jarring. I’d probably have enjoyed this quite a lot if I read it when I was younger. For now I’ve just appreciated the short and sweet reminder of the intrigue and allure of the Peruvian Andes.
