Please note the title – it's important in forming an accurate opinion of the book. It is not called “An Unbiased Opinion of a Former Hockey Great”. Lori Horton talks about her husband – especially his off-ice / family side. It admits that a generally great guy also had his warts – we all do – but it glosses over them. A lot of the photos are family snapshots, showing a side of Tim Horton that other biographers overlook. Others are newspaper clippings from the family file – the words are hard to read, but the pictures are ones that are rarely seen since their original publication.

I'd read some bad reviews before picking up this book, and came in with trepidation. The book is not perfect, but if you're looking for a glimpse of Tim Horton that states what it plans to deliver and then follows through with it, this book fulfills its promises.
