Really liked this book. I'm trying to continue my learning of American Sign Language and reading this book to strengthen my signing skills.
I wish the glossary with the explanations were actually in the beginning instead of the back because I read this as an e-book and the descriptions would've helped me understand the book better. I also wished that while we do get SOME signs in this book if there was another part of the book that was just signed. For example, the page with the fingerspelling of just the word CHICK could be the ASL version of the sentence. not sure if it made sense but I still really enjoyed the book and will continue to read more books on ASL.

Trying to teach my toddler sign language and needed to learn the animal signs. The diagrams worked well for me (although Signing Times videos have been my best learning tool). The story is cute and my 5 y.o liked it. Not quite as good as Famous Fenton Has A Farm from the same series, but worth the read.

A house-that-jack-built type of cumulative story. A chicken frantically tries to protect her nest from marauding rats, cats and geese. A cute story with sign language tied in, but the illustrations are seriously disappointing.

Rhyming story recalls the sequence of events in the nursery rhyme The House that Jack Built in telling the story of interconnected happenings accompanying the hatching of the eggs of the narrator, a chicken.
