Wow! I am impressed by this book by Katharine Moore, as I think it was groundbreaking for its time. It is informative and is still a useful resource now, especially for those interested in women and faith. Katharine Moore's analysis is at times very insightful on this topic. The book is enhanced by a Foreword by Joyce Grenfell.

The book offers us a broad sweep of women and Christianity from the Saxon Period to 1978 mostly focusing on the UK, with some information on women in the United States and women in missions abroad. There are bound to be some omissions, but this book is a useful starting point.

I think this is one of those books that have added a valuable resource to field of women's studies and probably deserves more attention. I have passed the details on to our Vicar of Peterborough, who is the first woman Vicar of Peterborough (UK).
