Milet Bilingual Visual Dictionary

Rate this book
A resource for young learners, this series of bilingual visual dictionaries comes in a CD-ROM format to help children add to their vocabulary. Useful, everyday words are grouped into subjects so that children can focus on one set of related words at a time, while games such as word searches, jumbles, and matches help make learning fun. By clicking on a picture, users can hear the word pronounced in two languages, making this an ideal learning tool for both individual use and classroom settings.

This is not a bad visual dictionary, however, there are a few flaws that I am aware of.
1. There is no pronunciation guide. This is not necessarily bad, but you should be aware that you'll need to learn pronunciation somewhere else.
2. There was at least one typo in Korean. (Romanized, as I don't have a Korean keyboard): Ddal ri should have been ddal gi (strawberry). My Korean is still limited, so I cannot say for certainty that there were no other spelling mistakes.
3. In actuality, there are two sets of numbers in Korean. This book goes back and forth between the two sets rather than being consistent with one.

That said, I did like the layout and the pictures. It is good for getting a feel for how Hangul is written and it is my belief that most of it is accurate.
Be aware that it was published in the UK, so some of the terms may be unfamiliar to you if you are American (as I am). But the pictures should make it pretty easy to clear up any confusion.

The CD ROM is basically the same thing as the book.
