Destellos de vida: Memorias (Papel de liar)

Friderike Zweig, the first wife of the renowned Austrian novelist and playwright Stefan Zweig, was in a unique position to observe and influence the work and philosophies of one of 20th century Europe’s most important writers. In these memoirs, she writes candidly about her and Stefan’s life together as well as her Viennese childhood and first marriage to Felix Edler von Winternitz. Ultimately, however, this is a unique testimony of two striking intellectual journeys—in which literary luminaries such as Rilke, Hesse, and Gorky make cameos—through a Europe gripped by the specter of two devastating wars.
