Relentless: I am living proof that there is always a reason to keep fighting
I would find refuge, and he would find me and ruin it. I remember everything. I can still hear 13-year-old her (me) screaming and crying, "No, no!" I get angry at myself for being so weak and unable to fight harder— so many of them. Everyone treated me like trash. My soul retching inside my body, frantically clawing, not to get out, but to bury itself deeper, further away from you, while you tell me I asked for this. Everything is louder when it's silent. I dreamed of drowning. There is a marked point in my life. If you could see the timeline of "me," there is a pin stuck about halfway that signifies the most important day of my life. This day, this point, was the beginning of the greatest challenge I would ever face. But I faced it.

So emotional.
With knowing Kadi and knowing bits and pieces of her story over the years this was a hard one to read. It has given me a better understanding of how her life prior to meeting her. She has become a major part of my life as well as my daughters. We are so thankful to know the Kadi we know now.

I love this memoir by Kadi Harnish. She somehow manages to walk the line between despair and hope. Kadi demonstrates a beautiful social awareness with her ending that made me feel like it was okay to keep moving forward.
There seemed to be hints in the book that the author has lived a lot more life than what is written in Relentless. And I am hopeful for more in the future.
