Society of American Archivists series publication. Sections include Planning a Security Program; Security, Staff and Patrons; Security and the Collections; Security Equipment; Security Against Fire and Flood; and Archival Security and the Law. Includes two appendices, a guide to further reading and a very helpful Repository Security Checklist.
This is a pretty easy read. As it was the first book on archival security, it definitely made use of the literature of the time in order to educate archivists and rare books librarians. The only issue I had was with the inclusion of a section on fire. Subsequently, the literature has begun to include all aspects of preservation as a part of security, but in this I ask, "Why only fire?" Anyway, it's a good introduction to security, an aspect of archival management that many repositories overlook.
