Deaf Dogs

Rate this book
A beautiful award-winning coffee-table book, Deaf Dogs features the gorgeous portraits and stories of 78 deaf dogs who were lucky enough to find their forever homes. Thousands of deaf dogs are put to sleep in the U.S. each year simply because they are born deaf. This photo book dispels the myths that deaf dogs are untrainable and turn aggressive and shows these dogs as the loving companions that they are. A must-have photo book for anyone with a deaf dog. A portion of the proceeds is donated to rescues and shelters to help homeless animals.

This is a great way to spread the word that deaf dogs are just as smart and loving as any hearing dog! I have had a deaf cat and a deaf dog in the past, and they were the best...they actually paid more attention to me than my other pets!

I very much enjoyed this book, especially because so many of the dogs contained therein were rescues. However, even though the author did note that English Setters do have one of the highest rates of deafness, she didn't include any in the book which I think was a huge oversight.
