A great book! It took me a long time to read, but was definitely worth it; there was never really a dull moment. The author brought insight from so many different sources, I felt like he was able to create a quite complete picture of an often fractured subject. The pattern of apostasy and restoration was made clear through countless examples and was accentuated by detailing many doctrines and practices that seemed to come and go with time. It seemed to me to have the informational value of a textbook, while at the same time providing an interesting and uplifting look at how God works with mankind.
