This detailed overview of the construction contracting business delivers an invaluable collection of best practices, forms, templates, and checklists designed to reduce risks and increase profits. Contractors will learn everything they need to know about the make-or-break areas of estimating, pricing, bidding, project management, and financial management.
Worst book I have ever read. Shame on Jody McKenzie for allowing such a poorly written book to be published. The content isn’t necessarily the issue, it’s the prose and the arrangement of content in the book. I don’t blame the contractor that wrote the book. No, I blame the publisher for not working with him to create a product that presents his work and ideas in an intelligible manner.
I like all the realistic tips in this book, it is very much like a mentor for someone entering into the construction industry. I also like the diagrams/pictures provided. Although not detailed to specialty contractors, they are a good start for anyone looking to make better use of their daily time. I think that the book is also a good tool for people who have been in the industry for a few years, and may need to get new ideas and revamp existing methods. The style of writing could be worse than it is, but it is easy to understand which is important.
