Despite being an older edition, this book still mostly stands the test of time. It was super helpful, informative and on the nose in its description of life in Jakarta for an expat.

Lucu banget.

Mungkin memang akan selalu lucu ya kalau baca tentang berbagai kebiasaan dan etiket satu kelompok manusia tertentu. Tapi kalau menjadi bagian dari mereka yang dicoba jelaskan buku ini rasa gelinya jadi berlebih-lebih. Hal-hal yang buat orang Jakarta mungkin udah biasa banget berubah jadi kocak kalau lewat sudut pandang orang luar (always a warung open!).

Lengkap mulai dari cara masuk Indonesia, penjelasan tentang mandi, cara becanda, percaya gak percaya soal masuk angin, lalu lintas, buah-buahan, sampai sedikit sejarah Indonesia.

Sayangnya buku ini agak mahal kalau cuma dibeli sebagai buku humor. (cari temen bule, suruh beli trus pinjem deh.)

Very informative book about culture in Jakarta. Although its statistics need to be updated as its 2nd edition is for 2011. Strongly recommended for the newcomers in Jakarta and Indonesia.
