Anne MacGregor is honorary Professor at the Centre for Neuroscience and Trauma at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and a Specialist in Headache and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at Barts Health NHS Trust.

She worked at the City of London Migraine Clinic from 1988 to 2011 and has been actively involved with the lay and professional headache charities, serving as a trustee of the Migraine Trust and a member of the Medical Advisory Board and on the Executive Boards of BASH and ADMA. She was on the Board of Directors of the IHS for ten years, first as Honorary General Secretary and later as Honorary Treasurer.

Currently she is joint Faculty Deanery Advisor for North East Thames, General Training Programme Director in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (SRH) for Barts Health NHS Trust and Vice Chair of the Examination committee and Convener of the Critical Reading paper for MFSRH. In 2002 she received the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Award, awarded by the World Headache Alliance to a woman who has “made an extraordinary contribution toward relieving the burden of headaches on those affected”. Her research covers all aspects of headache and migraine with a particular interest in the effects of sex hormones on headache.
