The second novel in the easiest series of German novels in existence for 1st- or 2nd-year students. Petra is a 15-year-old girl from the isle of Rügen, in northeast Germany. She goes to California as an exchange student. She lives with a caring American family but encounters prejudice at school, especially from a girl named Debbie. By chance Petra finds Debbie in a dangerous situation. She acts quickly and decisively to rescue her. The two girls become fast friends, and eventually Debbie goes to Rügen to visit Petra and her family.

Oh my GOD. We had to read this book for German class. It's so horrible. Just everything about this book is bad. It's basically opposite Pobre Ana (German girl goes to America instead of American girl going to another country). Every single thing was over-described. The only conflict was resolved in two sentences. It was just a whole mess.

Das Thema des Buches besteht darin, jeden so zu behandeln, wie man behandelt werden möchte, auch wenn er nicht der netteste zu einem ist. Petra ist ein 15-jähriges Mädchen aus Deutschland, das als Studentin nach Kalifornien geht Austauschschüler. Sie lebt bei einer sehr netten amerikanischen Familie.In der Schule trifft sie ein gemeines Mädchen – Debbie.Petra findet Debbie in einer gefährlichen Situation. Petra hilft Debbie, das Problem zu lösen. Dieser Vorfall und das, was danach passiert, betrifft beide sehr. Man sollte aus dieser Geschichte lernen, den Menschen immer zu helfen. Ich habe mich für dieses Buch entschieden, weil mir das Cover gefallen hat. Ich würde diesem Buch 4 Sterne geben. Es war ziemlich gut, aber sehr jung.

Petra gehen zu kalifornien, und debbie ist ein groses bitch. petra hat mit Debbie Martin befreundet. Debbie hat deutschland besucht. Jetzt ist Debbie nicht so gemein.

Great book for learning German, but the plot was predictable.

Fantastic for beginners in learning German. I found it easy enough to understand without being too complicated for a limited working proficiency in German.
