This does not sound like a translation at all, and I find no evidence in the book of any scholarship. As far as I can tell, this is a paraphrase for children. I gave it one star because there isn't anything lower.

It reminds me a lot of "no fear shakespeare," another gimmick pitched at the lowest level of readers. You might as well read Dan Brown.

I have read the New Testament in so many translations and over and over in King James Version. This book really brought alive the experience as if it was a whole new document. I sent a new one to my mother, but she sticks with King James. Maybe someday she will dare to open it and give it a try.

I really enjoyed this translation. So down to earth. Almost chthonian. So beautiful in its roughness. And you don´t need to be religious to enjoy it. Hell, I´m not.
