Grandmaster John Emms revisits the Nimzo-Indian, his favourite opening for over 30 years. He shares his experience and knowledge, and continually challenges the reader to answer probing questions, thereby encouraging the learning and practising of vital opening skills.
In terms of chess contents, The Nimzo-Indian: Move by Move by John Emms is hands down a five star book. However, I feel obliged to remove a star because of too many language related errors, the majority of which could have been easily avoided if they had employed a proper proofreader.
Anyway, if you want to learn how to play the Nimzo-Indian main lines, you need not look further than this here book. It’s excellent. The explanations are clear, the lines logical and easy to remember. In short, it’s the perfect repertoire book for beginners and experts alike.
As with all the books in the "Move by Move" series, this one excels at instruction, particularly in the transition to the middle game, where Emms does a great job or explaining the various plans and how to proceed right at the juncture where most non-masters go wrong.
