A historical romantic drama set in China in the last half of the 20th century. A great mix of characters and history ending in chapter 53. Readers should stop at the end of chapter 53. Continuing after that chapter, I found the book became cheap and melodramatic. Otherwise, I would have rated it 4 stars.
