Alexia was feeling awkward about having to tell the rest of the women in her coven how inactive she was in the intimacy dept. and she was hoping things would change soon. She was a picky woman but why shouldn't she be? The last thing Alexia wanted was to be someone's play toy. She had a gift of turning men on and leaving them craving her touch but couldn't she have a meaningful and flirtatious relationship with a man who meant more to her than a frivolous sexual affair?

The story plays out like one of those fun housewives reality shows where women are sitting around either trying to help solve your problem or blaming you for causing the problem in the first place. It's a delight to see the coven treat each other in a sisterly manner instead of like most stories where the witches are plotting the demise of the whole town or the men who had deceived them. This storyline has a sensual feel to it where the reader is going to delve deep into the characters and especially what happens to Alexia. I find it humorous that one of the most important discussions of the day had to do with the last time the women got laid.

Samhain Eve (known also as Halloween) became one of the most enticingly hot night of the year. The reader gets over excited to see what a few single, horny women can do to entertain themselves. It's refreshing to see how men aren't the only ones allowed to satisfy their sexual appetites.

The plot is exciting and in a way a little mysterious. When Wiccan women decide that they are going to be mischievous, you don't know what kind of trouble they are going to concoct, especially in a quaint place like a bed and breakfast establishment.

The dialogue is smart and humorous, which gives the characters life and personality. The conversation between Alexia and her spirit lover, Lance, will make any reader smile at how they go about teasing each other. Alexia is a strong female character who is open minded, adventurous and sexual in nature, which makes her lovable but playful as well. Her conjured lover is handsome, with a take charge attitude, but he soon finds out that she is the one in control and soon takes back her sexual power over him.

The author focuses on the characters and let's the story play itself out. She takes a simple concept of finding sexual gratitude and freedom and broadens it into a story of longing and intimacy. You are going to love this story of supernatural sex and witchcraft. You will soon believe that you could wish for your own divine paranormal sexual visitor in your bed, fulfilling all your fantasies.

Let me start by saying I hope this isn’t the only book. I hope there’s more. I really liked this story, and its characters. Alexia is like the friend we all hope to have –fun, loyal, and self confident; just a little problem with the lack of love life that she would like to fix.

Alexia’s coven, led by Amanda, seems like they are very close. They are the perfect combo of family and friend. When they decide they are going to change Alexia’s sex life problem, they waste no time in finding an answer in the spell they cast on Samhain Eve.

Samhain Eve is where we meet the hot and sexy Lance. He immediately knows everything about her – and everything about what she likes!

As I said, I really hope this isn’t the only book. I felt like this one went so fast, that I didn’t get to know the characters as much as I would, or the story behind each character, especially Lance. I felt left with wanting more with how he became what he was to her (which I can’t go much further into without spoilers), and what he would be in the future.

Although I felt the story went too fast, like I said, I hope there’s more. And I really enjoyed the story that there was, the characters, and what we got to know of Lance and Alexia. This is why I definitely give this book 4 stars, and hope to read more from this author in the future! ~Erin

Hea y'all Anne here I have read Magick Weaved On A Samhain Eve by Victoria J. Chisholm and what a great little story to get you into the Halloween spirit, based on a story of lonely witches who then concoct a spell to sate their lust in the most delicate time of year. Alexia has devised a plan to help bring a lover forward that she doesn't have to commit to. The story of these two lovers is sweet and well thought out for an end result that will melt your heart and make you want a Lance of your very own. Alexia is strong willed and even stronger in her magicks but chooses to make light of her gifts until Samhain when she carries out her plan along with a few of her fellow witches, that night makes a mark on her she won't soon forget. Lance is sure of his feelings for Alexia but he with the help of her friends will have to convince her that tings are going to happen and she must accept them. What a great tale of love crossing all barriers and being so strong that it will change fate and life for the new strong priestess. I look forward to more stories from this author as her writing is intense and captivating to read and her story is original and unique, 5 out of 5 stars for Magick Weaved On A Samhain Eve by Victoria J. Chisholm.

First,I'll start off by saying that the guy on the cover is a hotttttie;)
Second,I've only ever done one review before so I apologize in advance if my review isn't so great.
In this short story,a coven of witches are drinking and just having a good time when the topic of sex comes up.Alexia, one of the witches who has turned down the offer of becoming priestess of their coven, admits to the group that it's been years since she had sex.the witches immediately look up a spell so that all the single witches each have a night with their own sexy spirit.that's where Alexia meets a total cutie spirit named Lance;) but like all things in life,it's not that simple.
This is a quick read but it's good and it will make you crave for some more Lance,I know I do;)

This has to be one of favorite short story I have read so far! Lance is the guy, lover, soulmate every gal wishes for! Alexia is not your typical girl, but than again... Lance isn't your typical guy either. This story puts a new twist on the Paranomal romance... One that you will not soon forget. I can't wait to see what V.J. Chisholm Comes up with next!

I really was drawn two the main characters Lance and Alexia how they really could draw a person in to the pages showing that someone who's heart is closed to love can be opened up with a little magick. I really loved it and I can't wait to read more.

In the spirit of Halloween or Samhain to Witches and Wiccians, this is a very well researched and written story. The accuracy of knowledge of an alternative religion should be applauded. It is refreshing to read an author who knows the subject matter and has taken the time to research or actually talk to practioners.
The story line is very sweet. Not innocent, these characters are summoning spirit lovers after all. To read about a group of women who bond together for a common cause, instead of seeing each other as competition is very inspiring.
Each main character’s personality is showcased by the storyline. As a reader, you will look forward to more stories in the Magick series, so you will be able to follow each characters story.
Alexia and Lance worked because of faith, belief and timing. This can be said of any relationship. It does not hurt that Lance is super hot. However, eventually Alexia has to stop fighting and give into the experience.

“Believe in us, little one, and all will become clear!” ~Lance whispers to Alexia as he fades away during the first rays of dawn.

On a personal note, if I were single I would be tempted to try a lover-summoning spell of my own on Samhain/Halloween. This short story made me smile and giggle that much!

Possessive, arrogant spirit lovers. Single, horny, experimental witches. All in a novella about the size of this review (I kid, it is actually 54 pages). This little story is like the perfect, sweet snack before dinner: small and easy to digest. Not quite a short story, but definitely not long enough to be considered a novel, The Magick Weaved introduces a story from the perspective of a coven healer, Alexia.

After a coven meeting that more resembled a girl’s night, during which it is revealed that Alexia had not enjoyed a lover’s touch in years, the coven decides to find a spell that will attract sexy bed partners on Samhain. These spirits (unknown creatures: are they Gods? Djinn? Anatomically correct ghosts?) service the witches willingly, and loudly. Hoping for a one night, ethereal stand, Alexia gets stuck with the know it all spirit that thinks he owns her now.

Chisholm kept the sex scenes light, teasing the reader with hot and heavy petting descriptions and then fading to satisfied lovers. The author also kept the descriptions of scenery brief, so that every location mentioned seems vague, like a foggy memory. As with most novellas, The Magick Weaved focuses the most on the main character and her trials with her spirit lover, Lance. Chisholm does a good job letting Alexia develop emotionally, depicting her early on as a picky, controlling woman perfectly content to live life with a battery operated boyfriend rather than settle for a flawed human in for a pleasant surprise with the sex spell. Overall, a good, quick read written by a sex scene shy author.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Fairies

Chisholm's concept for her novella, Magick Weaved on a Samhain Eve, is passionate. The build up to the action is fairly well developed considering that this is a novella. The main character Alexia is quickly established, and we get a clear sense of her character.

The events move quickly up to the pinnacle of the novella, but when we get there, unfortunately, the story is pretty much over. Considering the sexy nature of this novella - the concept and the build up - what was somewhat frustrating was that Chisholm didn't fully follow through.

The main plot leads us to expect one hot, amazing night, yet 'The Night' was lacking. Please do not misunderstand, for a novella of this caliber, it's not necessary to include heavy and graphic love scenes, yet the characters didn't have enough depth to be able to support itself fully. Plus, considering the descriptive build up in the novella, I was left wanting more.

Magick Weaved on a Samhain Eve has great potential to be so much more; it would make a superb book where the characters could be fully explored and the reader left satisfied, especially because I really liked Chisholm's descriptive narrative. Overall, I enjoyed it, but I did expect more.

Like most women, I am not averse to reading a short story/novella that gets my heart racing a little. Unfortunately, this one stopped a little short.
*I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review*

I really liked the idea of the story concept and was really enjoying it, but I expected a little more... action I guess you could call it.

Leading up to Samhain and the spell to summon the spirit, Lance, I was really drawn into the story and the character of Alexia. I've always been fascinated with witches and their covens, so with a bit of added spice, I was flying through the pages.

When Lance appears and informs Alexia of what she can expect, I was expecting to be brought along for a wild ride, but I wasn't. There was a lot of talk and a little kissing, then nothing.

Now, as an author myself, I never write full blown sex scenes. I always always fade to black as usually, full on scenes don't fit my stories, but I am not averse to them at all, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the abrupt scene change in this story.

Chisholm really does create a spell on the reader in her build up, but I personally was left wanting a little more.

The story is about 30 or so pages which focuses more on the character development of Alexia, a coven healer, than anything else. It’s something that kind of wets your appetite for more. During a coven meeting her fellow sisters decide that Alexia’s lack of a sex life needs to be changed. And heck, why not enjoy some conjured willing spirits for themselves as well?
On Samhain they preform a spell that calls incredibly sexy bed partners to their side for a night of fun- or what should have been a simple night. For Alexia it turns into much more.

V.J. Chisholm teases you with vague descriptions of the lover’s night; giving you small samplings and pets that will make your mind wander as to what all happened. One thing is for sure, Alexia and Lance really enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed that this was so short. The author has a lot of potential and I’m curious to see where it takes her in the future. Maybe we’ll get another book about a coven sister, who knows?
All in all, it was well written and certainly enjoyable. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a light read of romance and magic.

Oh wow. What an amazing, sweet story. Loved every page of it!

Alexia is in a “little” dry spell at the moment… Well, to tell the truth, it’s more than just a little, bordering on years. And like many other of her single coven sisters, she feels the loss. One of her sisters digs through the Head Priestesses collection of books and find a solution; a spell that will weaken the veil to the spirit world, but it can only be done on Samhain Eve (Halloween).

What awaits Alexia once the spell is put in place is certainly NOT what she was expecting, and it turns her world upside down.

Loved, loved everything in this short story. Seriously, it was wonderful to read, spiced with love and hope, and in a way, I was sad to close the book. The world that Chrisholm has created is full of potential, and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. It is always a pleasure when an author can pluck you from your own world and set you down into their own and make you forget everything for a while.

Once again I find myself reading a short that I wish was longer, the story plot was intriguing and held my attention. It has a fast pace to it but it flows nicely and you do come to like the character's. I just wish there was a bit more character development as I would of liked to have known more about Lance.
Alexia is a great character she's fun and even though she has a private side to her she does like to have fun with her fellow coven members, and I love the thought of casting a spell just to have a night of sex. But what she didn't expect was to have the connection she has with the spirit Lance and the banter between these two will made you smile. Alexia does fight her feelings but there is a great HEA which once again will make you smile. If you love stories that are fun and quick to read, and love Witches with some romance thrown in then you will enjoy this one.

This was a great introduction to what think will be a fantastic series!
Alexia who is part of a Coven of colorful Witches, gather under the full moon to prepare for an important Wiccan holiday. Meanwhile, during the course of the evening, while getting merry, their conversation leads to an interesting topic. They then decide that a spell would be the answer to their particular issues!! However thing don’t go exactly as plan which leads to an unexpected surprise!
I really enjoyed this delightful story with it comical moments to it erotic encounters along with a real insight in the life of magic!
I am defiantly looking forward to the next installment to continue this magical experience!!

*This Book Was Given To Me In Exchange For An Honest Review*

I do love a little witchcraft, or a lot of witchcraft and his was an entertaining little read (coming in at under 50 pages) during which the author managed to pack a good amount of punch in a few words.

This almost edged to a 5 star for me but not quite, mainly because being a witch myself, the use of "Jesus Christ" really pulled me out of the moment and made me say "What?". That being said I think fans of short, sexy, paranormal romps would definitely enjoy this.

4 Stars from me.

I love the title of this book and the cover is definitely alluring. After downloading this book, I was certainly looking forward to reading it. However, I was sadly disappointed. The story had some 'holes' in the plot, required more depth and the heat level was not as the cover illustrated. I do feel that the characters were okay but could have been so much more. As a writer, I empathize with the author as the idea is good but as a reader and reviewer I feel that the execution needed to be honed more.

This is the first book from Ms. Chisholm and I look forward to seeing what more she brings to her readers.
There’s a meeting of the witches and Alexia has been designated to hang out with the other single sisters of the coven to make sure everything goes well. They are all trying out a spell in search of their spirit lover for the night. Alexia didn’t expect her lover to be someone she would want forever, but he had everything she could ever want and need. Would they ever be able to be with each other again or was this going to be a one night affair?

This was short and not at all what I expected. I felt like I was reading an excerpt from a much longer book. I wanted to know more about both main characters and their backgrounds. They just didn't have enough depth and when the author tried to give them some, it actually felt like it was too late. For some this format can work but for me, it just didn't meet the mark. I will say that it was very hot and steamy and I love the bit of romance in it. So if we got the rest of the story, I could see myself curled up with a nice honey mead, devouring the book.

MAGICK WEAVED ON A SAMHAIN EVE

By V.J. Chisholm

This is a cracking short story about witches in a coven that decide to cast a spell on Samhain eve (Halloween) Alexis casts a spell for a spirit to come and have sex with her.

Lance is the spirit that comes to Alexis and gives her a night of passion, Alexis cant seen to get Lance out of her mind.

The only disappointing thing about this story is that it is too short but I am hoping there will be more to this series.

short and sweet

If you are looking for a nice, quick and fulfilling read, this is it. Alexia presents herself to us as a lonely young woman who belongs to a Coven of witches. These are her friends and family that only want for all of the members to be happy. The special night of celebration is coming, and with it, a chance for those that are alone to not be. Alexia meets Lance and sparks fly. What does the coven know that Alexia doesn't? Read and find out.

I received this book from the author to read and review.

When I read the description of this book it sounded really interesting!

Straight away, Alexia's story had my attention. I couldn't wait to find out about the spell and what it would bring.
Everything happened so quickly but it was a sweet short read. I'd have liked if it was longer and had been able to get to know more about the characters more (which will happen in the follow up) but for now, all in all it was a good short story!

I enjoyed this book. Its not what I typically read, at first I wasn't sure I was going to like it.. a bunch of drunk woman/witches sitting around talking about their sex lives or lack there of could only end up one way..Casting a spell to bring spirit lovers into there world.. The only thing I didn't like was it was wordy. Seemed like a lot of words to say one thing but other then that I liked it. It was cute and liked the chemistry and the ending was a perfect way to end :)
