"Whose are you" by author James Bars is an 88 page book with a mesmerizing cover. The blue cover is of space and two planets. It says "Where will you be on the Last Day?" This really gives readers a question to ponder. Being biblically based this book uses scripture, parables, creation, and other biblical accounts to help readers become more acquainted with God and themselves.

Author Bars opens his book with a song, "I Hope You Dance". His book urges readers to seek God and the life He has planned for us. His gift to us is love and life. We just need to accept it. It is our choice. That is another gift we were given - the gift to choose.

"Whose Are You" is a thought provoking, inspiring book that glorifies God. The book will provoke readers to look into themselves to see who they really are and Whose. It helps readers get closer to God and know Him better. He is our creator and has designed us to enjoy life. We need to know Him and understand His ways to better do this.

I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a book on a relationship with God. This is inspiring reading for a seeker, fledgling Christian, or Veteran one. I received a copy from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review. I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars.

This thought provoking book of discovering who and whose we are begins with a beautiful introduction using the song written by Tia Sillers and Mark Sanders, sung by Lee Ann Womack, "I Hope You Dance." An invitation to the discovery of who I am not, but whose I am sets the pace for a conscious choice. God's gift to us is love and eternal joy. Indecision is a choice. It is within our hearts that we decide whose we are.


The foundation of earth was founded on love with absolute freedom. Since the universe was built upon love, it cannot be purchased. Love can only be given freely. As we journey through darkness into light God promises his gifts and guidance to bring us to the greatest awareness in our worldly lives. The gift of free will belongs to us. Our choice is the ultimate reward.


Whose Are You is a gift in and of itself. The lessons of who we aren't and whose we are lead to a greater understanding of what is most important in life. Our choices make us worthy of who we belong to, and the author has posed an in depth view of which direction we need to take to reach that goal. This is an excellent book for new believers and seasoned Christians. I highly recommend it!

I have tried to read every book this author writes because his writing style is so deep and powerful . I am always blessed after reading one of his inspirational books. This book is one of my favorites and really had me searching inside myself for a deeper meaning of who I am.

"it is a conscious choice to open your ears to hear, your eyes to see, your mind to know and your heart to understand the truth about who you are and whose you are." What a powerful statement that is . We do have choices in life, but do we always make the right ones?

His very vivid description of the throne room was so awesome I wanted to stay there and feel His presence. Everyday someone is questioning their faith.God doesn't want us to have doubt. Those thoughts are from the enemy and we need to keep reminding ourselves that we are God's sons and daughters. He loves us unconditionally. There is a real enemy out there waiting and lurking to draw us away from God. "He desires that none should perish but that all may enter upon the path of life."

Thank you for writing such an encouraging book that helps us understand how precious we are to God. This will be a book I will treasure and look at often. "Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life." John 14:6

Whose Are You? by James Bars is a Scripturally based book written to encourage readers to embrace a life of joy and hope. Often we often question "who am I" and define the answer by our careers or our roles in life, or by how we look or the things we own. Bars challenges us to look at not "who am I" but to question "whose am I?" Throughout the chapters of this relatively short book, the reader is given the Biblical record of creation and the Creator. The Creator who ultimately gives His very own life to bring reconciliation to a people who have been deceived by the angel of fear and death, Satan. The Creator who has given us a gift of faith by which we can enter in to the life He has designed for us. The Creator who has given us the choice to decide whose we are. Bars uses parables and straight-forward lessons to remind readers they are spiritual beings having a human experience and to encourage them to understand and seek to discover their true identity by choosing to personally know the Creator. Whose Are You? is an encouraging and uplifting book.

Whose Are You?

All too often we try to label ourselves. We create labels based on ethnic backgrounds, occupations, personal beliefs, etc. But these aren't who we are or even what we are. Often we get so caught up in this self identification that we lose sight of who we truly are and to whom we belong.

Whose Are You? takes us on a journey through time, examining the discontent that lead to the first turning from God. Since the darkness came into the world we are often left in moments of insecurity, wondering who we are and where we belong. But we can have this assurance, we have been given a way to discover this truth. And Whose Are You? will help one find this truth that has been recorded and given to us in the Bible.

I love how easy it is to read and understand books written by James Bars. This book is set up for all those who are ready for a powerful message. Each chapter is set up for each step closer to God's grace.
I have found true inspiration through this book.
We are our worst enemy. We doubt ourselves everyday but God never doubts us. We need to learn to let God show us the way. We need to stop listening to those who try and bring us down.
This was a great book that encourages you to have faith that God is always present. God Is here know matter what! I will be sharing this message and recommending this great book.

This book started strong. I enjoyed the reminder of who I am.
But as I read on I kind of felt like the book lost its focus. Not that is was bad it just wasn’t what I expected. The author went into a lot of history of how our enemy came to be, and that was interesting.
I have read a couple of other books by this author and I kind of felt like it said a lot of the same things. I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t more new material. I also felt like the writing style wasn’t consistent, that it changed abruptly between chapters.
As always, this is my opinion only.

In a society that obsesses with labels and groups and people from all walks of life searching desperately for a place to fit in, Whose Are? is a novella by author James Bar that makes sense of our identity search. It is not the question ‘who am I’ and all the labels we tack on to ourselves that identify us. The question we should be asking ourselves is ‘whose am I?’ And in answering that question we will find our identity, our hope, our home, and the very reason we were created. So I ask you, whose are you? As for me, I am a child of the One True King and in Him I find I am loved for who I really am.

Is a book full of making your mind really dig deep who do you belong to? Do we always make the right decisions in our lives? No! Do we speak with God daily in prayer? If not, we should.
This book is an insight for everybody. It a book I will read again.
