When this book was listed as a freebie for Kindle, I jumped all over it, with high expectations for interesting anecdotes, quips, and other inside information not previously given to the media during the Bruins Stanley Cup run. At very least, I expected a few exclusive player interviews or quotes. What I got was none of that. This book is quite literally just the facts of the Bruins rise to Stanley Cup championships. All of the material in the book could have been gotten elsewhere, and in fact, much of it was, as many quotes are attributed to newspapers and the like. This book just brings nothing new and original to the table.
More than that, this book lacks emotion. For anyone who watched the NHL playoffs this year, they know that each series was erupting with emotion. Hahn captures none of it. It read like a police bulletin..."just the facts ma'am..."
Two stars for at least being factually correct. But don't bother if you saw the series or even watched the DVD afterwards; you'll be disappointed.
