The book was certainly good in its day, but it was just amazing to me how much of it is completely outdated in just ~30 years. Basic data remains good, but even our thoughts on how the Moon formed have very much changed. Whole chapters and sections of the book with regard to photographic observing now read like a modern infantry man loading a musket.
Good for historical reading, but stay away from the book - nicely out of print now - for modern observing.
