This book was exactly what i needed, people keep mixing between tradition and religion; Islam has shown that a woman is a mans' equal, while tradition claims that a woman should stay at home and raise her children, tradition also implies that a man is a higher being and a woman is naturally his inferior. And what i enjoyed most is that it has quotes from the Holy Qur'an. So to anyone who wants to know more about this topic and sexism, you should definitely read this book.
I read the prons & cons of each subject to understand the different point of views, perspectives, motivations, reasons, background & history ... etc . & before I start my review , let me just clarify ( before anyone attacks :0 ) , I’m not protesting against anything God stated it clear in the quoran , but I’m simply irritated by the fact how everything get interpreted by us, humans, in the most undermining ways for females. I will not comment on the book’s ideas that actually took space to be discussed & the reasons justifying those ideas , bcz it’s an old book published since 1992 . But I will say this : 1. I’m sooo sorry for all those who learned those ideas & reasons back then & more sorry for those generations that preceded after raised with the same mentality ! 2. I’m depressed that even though after 26 years from publishing this book , we’re still discussing the same issues , & moreover, some people nowadays still have the same exact concepts :/ & that only shows how slowly, barely if even ever our nation is moving, working & even thinking .!
