Peter Swan is a believer. He believes in his family, his friends, and his faith in God. But when he is told that he has an inoperable form of cancer-and only six months to live-his entire existence is shaken apart. From the moment his doctor speaks those fateful words, Peter's life is changed forever. How can he believe that God loves him when He is stealing his life away? How can he trust a Savior who would inflict this upon him? What begins at that moment is a life-changing crisis of faith and hope and unavoidable fate. The thought of leaving his loving family behind is a devastating one, and Peter struggles to find the strength to be brave-if only for them. He tries desperately to find a way to hold fast and stay true to his convictions, even as the pain threatens to overcome his will. The joy and comfort that other people of faith find in their Savior seems to elude him, and he fears what lies in the darkness if he cannot make peace with his fate-and find his real joy. Will he find his joy before he loses his life?
