A poetry collection about first loves and first heartbreaks, Catalina Prieto’s transcend takes you on a journey toward reaching the self-love and clarity you need to move forward.
In her debut poetry collection, Catalina Prieto delicately weaves together lessons in love, relationships, heartbreak, and healing into a beautiful tapestry of growth and transformation. Full of warmth and gentle wisdom, transcend provides encouragement and clarity for all hurting hearts as they emerge from the depths of healing into the arms of their own compassion, wholeness, and self-love.
Perfect for those who prefer more accessible poetry in free verse and aphoristic styles. While not my preferred style of poetry, the meaningfulness of its messages, its healthy and holistic perspective on love, and the creativity within each poem and illustration earn this book a solid 4.5 star rating rounded up to 5.

Complete with beautiful illustrations, whether it is your first heartbreak you’re mourning or your last, Catalina Prieto’s transcend is here to help you heal the hurt. It is here to help you emerge a more resilient version of yourself through the vulnerable power of words. I definitely felt these
Transcend stated that it was dedicated to anyone going through heartbreak of any kind and in need of self-love. To consider this book a resource, one where you may read the real, unvarnished truth of attachment and leaving an unhealthy, abusive relationship. This book did just that for me. I have experienced this for myself and it helped. I’m sure it will help anyone who is on their own healing journey, due to rough relationship’s. It's a reminder that you are not alone. Thank you to Goodreads and Catalina Prieto for sending me this Arc. I use to read and write poetry when I was younger. For some reason I stopped. So reading this woke up that side of me again. I recommend this to anyone.
I won this in a goodreads giveaway, so here is my honest review. I absolutely loved many of the poems that she wrote, I can relate to many of them on a deep, personal, and spiritual level. These are words that we may feel and yet don't say often. I know that many of the poems will stick with me for a while. Knowing poetry and the feelings behind them is an art that I feel like I am slowly starting to understand. It was a quick read, but I know I'll go back to many of the poems to reread them and see them in a new light.
Transcend is a stunning collection of poetry that takes you through the stages of grief. Catalina put words on a page that my mind has sought for during the periods of heartbreak. This is poetry that is beautifully true and relates to the brokenness of losing your love. We are not alone in our heartbreak, and Transcend proves that our emotions are just as lovely when they are damaged.

It is a short read, but one that will definitely remain with me. Catalina Prieto's poems are beautiful, healing, and emotional. Her words were ones I needed to hear without even knowing it. I connected to these poems and found myself nodding in agreement to many of them. She does an incredible job of connecting with her readers and making you feel as if you're talking to a friend about your heartbreak/hardships and not just reading a collection of poems.
Definitely worth taking the time to read this if you haven't already.
