Pity there's no cover on this. The old maps are absolutely beautiful, and by a roundabout way it got me started on Patrick o'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series of novels, of which I'm curently reading the second volume, oh I forgot to add it in! Anyway, I treasure this book and leaf through it often. It opens the mind, and makes me think of the first paragraph of Moby Dick.
